Who can use ren

Minimum age. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and to use ren's AI features, including AI marking and AI-generated feedback.

Parental consent. Users below 13 years old need the consent of a parent or guardian. Because ren's minimum age is 13, ren is not offered to anyone who would need that consent. Where a school or programme operator gives students access to ren, it is responsible for making sure they meet the minimum age and for telling parents how ren is used in teaching and learning.

Teachers and administrators. If you use ren on behalf of a school or organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to do so, including to upload the student work and class information you provide.

Your account

• Give accurate information when you create your account, and keep it up to date.
• Keep your sign-in details secure and do not share your account with anyone else.
• Tell us at hello@reneducation.com if you think someone else has used your account.

Acceptable use

When using ren, you must not:

• Upload work or personal data that you are not authorised to share.
• Upload content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive or infringes someone else's rights.
• Access another person's account, class or records without permission.
• Try to disrupt, overload, probe or bypass the security of the service.
• Copy, reverse engineer or resell the service, or use it to build a competing product.
• Use ren's AI features to produce content that is harmful or that misrepresents a student's own work.

AI marks and feedback

ren uses AI to suggest marks and generate feedback. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or inconsistent. It is a tool to support teachers, not a replacement for their judgement.

• Teachers should review AI-suggested marks and feedback before relying on them.
• AI output should not be the sole basis for any high-stakes decision about a student.
• Students who are unsure about a mark or a piece of feedback should check with their teacher.

Your content

Work, scripts, rubrics and other material you upload remain yours, or your school's. You give us permission to store and process that content only as needed to provide ren to you and your school, as described in our Privacy Notice.

We do not sell student work or use it for advertising.

Our service

ren, including its software, design and content, belongs to Ren Education Pte. Ltd.. These terms give you the right to use ren, not to own any part of it.

We work to keep ren available and accurate, but we may change, add or remove features over time. We will give schools reasonable notice of changes that materially affect how they use ren.

Suspension and closing accounts

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users or the service at risk. You may stop using ren at any time. To have your account or data deleted, email hello@reneducation.com. Where your records are controlled by your school, we may need to refer your request to them.

Our responsibility to you

ren is provided as it is and as available. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses that arise from relying on AI output without review, or that we could not reasonably have foreseen.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Singapore law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify affected users before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
